Dolls of Style

My barbie dolls started the obsession. These plastic toys were not allowed to stay in the same outfit for more than one outing. I was constantly styling them from head to toe, wishing I could wear the clothes too. I brought a bag with one barbie doll, the doll changed each day, and endless amounts of clothes everywhere I went. It seemed incredibly important to me that these ladies didn’t wear the same outfit twice. These rules follow me in my daily life. I pretend I am the barbie doll and can’t show up rewearing, how horrifying. I have an illness, fashion. It is not only an art, but a disease that can ruin peoples lives, well their bank accounts. Luckily I work at Nordstrom and can get these trends with my discount, or else I would be living out of all my shoe boxes. I can tell you, I have always been this crazy, and it works to my advantage, working as a stylist. My clients love and respect the fact that fashion is my life and this is why they come to me. They want my vision translated to them and their body types. This job allows me to dress people in the latest trends, like they are my barbie dolls. It is my passion to transform someone who doesn’t love the pieces that make up their closet into someone who can’t wait to wake up in the morning and plan out what to wear. The happiness they show on their faces gives me a feeling I just don’t even know how to put into words. This might be because I am dyslexic, or because I get so excited thinking about it that I can’t explain the feeling running through me. Since this is a blog, I have attached images of my own personal style. These pictures represent my personality in clothing, a little bit of flirty mixed with a conservative edge. Each personality is different and not everyone can wear the same styles and trends, but my moto is, if you work with who you are as a person, then your style will follow. You don’t have the invest your whole bank account into buying each hot new item of the season, figure out who you are a person and let your style adapt to you.
